LG Unveiled Its Latest Flagship Smartphone ‘G2’

At a large launch event at Lincoln Center in NY City, LG unveiled its new Android Flagship smartphone, the LG G2. The device boasts a large 5.2-inch full HD display with 1080-by-1920 pixel resolution. According to LG, the G2 will be rolling out in more than 130 countries, starting in South Korea and followed by Europe. It will be the first Smartphone to use the Snapdragon 800 processor.

Features:

Big Screen: The G2 is much closer in size to the Samsung Galaxy S4 rather than the Optimum G Pro. The device is only 1mm wider than the Galaxy S4. It is a good move because it gives users the benefits of a bigger screen.

Rear Buttons: LG made an interesting decision regarding button placement. The volume and power buttons are right below the camera. A quick tap on the buttons will allow users to move the volume up or down and a long press of the On button will launch the Quick Memo shortcut and the Camera.

Camera: The G2 has a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. While zooming in at 4X on a vibrating object, the LG’s latest flagship smartphone G2 maintained a much more stable image.

“Like HTC and Samsung, LG has its own Android skin. Atop Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, LG has added features it thinks will make life easier for users. Most of these features we have seen on the previous LG Optimus G and the Optimus G Pro — but they now appear more refined and better thought out. Features such as “knock to turn on” for the screen and “hold to the ear to answer” — are similar to features we have seen from Samsung and Motorola. LG has much less experience skinning Android and its results are mixed at best.” Read more http://mashable.com/2013/08/08/lg-g2-hands-on/

The free cellular phone service provided by the Lifeline program is now available for the residents of Louisiana, Arkansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, Maryland, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Kentucky, Washington, Rhode Island, Nevada, Iowa, Texas, West Virginia as well as the other states of the country. Under this Lifeline program, applicants receive free government cell phone service in the form of free minutes. Along with this cell phone service, they receive the vital facilities like sending and receiving text messages, making local and long distance calls, accessing 911 and voicemail.

LG Planning Curved Display Smartphone, the G Flex, For November Launch

Samsung fever may be upon us, but their chief rival, LG Electronics, Inc., is not standing idle. According to a recent report from the Wall Street Journal, LG is preparing a Smartphone with a curved display and will likely unveil the device in November 2013. No solid leaks or image prototype yet, but WSJ (Wall Street Journal) has posted a sketch of the device that shows how much this LG’s new mobile, dubbed G Flex, will bend.

Expected Specifications of G Flex

A flexible display of this new Smartphone does not mean that it will be able to flex. Rather, the curved display will be set stationary. The curve will be vivid enough to fit comfortably around the user’s face but not so angular that it will look peculiar. The screen of the G Flex will be based on organic LED technology and the display would be slightly concave.

LG’s mobile business president told reporters at a media event: “We are trying to make phones differentiated from our rivals.”

It’s a busy time for LG Electronics Inc. Their plans aren’t finalized yet, but if all goes well the device should hit the competitive market next month. LG has just released its flagship G2 Smartphone. Google plans to launch an LG-built Nexus 5 in the next several weeks, according to a person familiar with the Nexus plans.

With Nexus 4, LG generated a bit of hype in the market. The Company is looking forward to generate more hype with a curved display Smartphone, dubbed G Flex.

HTC Finally Announces the ‘HTC One Mini’

After a long stream of rumors, HTC announced the ‘HTC One Mini’ Smartphone with a 4.3-inch screen and a 1.4GHz Processer. This portable device features a dual core processor, 16GB of storage, and the HTC UltraPixel camera. It is just a touch bigger than the iPhone5, at 132mm x 63.2mm x 9.3mm in size. Viewing angles are perfect making it great for watching movies. The front of the phone provides a 1.6 megapixel, 720p video capable unit.

Specifications of the HTC One Mini

  • Operating System: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense
  • Screen: 4.3-inch, HD 720p, 341ppi
  • Dimensions, Weight: 132 x 63.2 x 9.25mm, 122g
  • RAM: 1GB DDR2
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, dual-core, 1.4GHz
  • Micro SIM availability
  • Camera: HTC UltraPixel Camera, BSI sensor, Pixel size 2.0 μm, Sensor size 1/3″

HTC made a big song and dance about the low-light performance camera on the One, but they have been quiet about the snappers that are included in the One Mini. It’s not clear whether we’ll see the UltraPixel shenanigans again, or if the Taiwanese firm decides to return to the more conventional megapixel setup but, apparently the One Mini will be quite capable with its rear camera. Nokia Finally Unveiled Its Flagship Windows Phone – “The Lumia 1020”

Many people expected the new smartphone, “The Lumina 1020” to arrive last year, but Nokia decided to launch the Lumina 920. After a flurry of rumors, Nokia finally unveiled the highly awaited smartphone, Nokia Lumina 1020. Nokia tried its best to keep this device as thin as possible, and it is significantly lighter than Lumina 920. Technically, the Lumina 1020 has the best camera performance over other Smartphones.

Unmatched pictures and videos

The Lumina 1020 takes pictures and videos that no other smartphone can match with a 41-megapixel sensor and an amazing high-resolution zoom. The camera is the big attraction because 41-megapixel f/2.2 sensor uses a technique called oversampling that combines 7 pixels into 1 super pixel, to create 5-megapixel images that hold the details of a 41-megapixel image.

Specifications:

  • Display size: 4.5inch
  • Touch screen technology: Super-sensitive touch
  • Main camera sensor: 41 MP, PureView
  • Flash type: Xenon flash
  • Maximum music playback time: 53.0Hour(s)
  • Processor name: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4
  • Processor type: Dual-core 1.5 Ghz

A more practical feature is how the images implement the zoom. If you zoom in on your subject to take a photo, the entire (non-zoomed) photo still appears, letting you access it at any point and re-frame the photo afterward. For more information visit http://on.mash.to/18bYcLj
